“Sin in the Camp”

(Joshua 7)

We all sin (Rom. 3:23); need to repent (Acts 8:22ff).

Failure to repent of sin is dangerous (Rev. 2:5).

What it means to have sin in the camp:

1. To the Individual

A. need to be restored (Gal. 6:1)

B. soul headed toward eternal death (Ja. 5:20)

C. spirit needs saving (1 Cor. 5:5)

D. is walking disorderly (2 Thess. 3:6, 11)

E. is disobedient (2 Thess. 3:14)

2. To the Congregation

A. seek to restore, convert, save (A & B above)

B. 1 Cor. 5: (2) - mourn, (5) - deliver to Satan,

(6, 7) - poor influence upon church, (9-13) -

do not keep company w/him - not even to eat,

put away from yourselves the evil person.

C. 2 Thess. 3: (6) - withdraw from, (14) - note

that person - do not keep company w/him =

he may be ashamed. (15) not enemy, brother
